Solution 1: Rectify the Configuration file

  1. Open the Windows menu.
  2. Search for your word in the search field.
  3. Click on Windows Explorer.
  4. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Sage\HR.
  5. Locate the configuration.xml and right-click on it.
  6. Tap on Open With.
  7. Select your own custom program.
  8. Click on Notepad.
  9. Hit OK.
  10. You need to find the statement beginning with “remoting server=”. It should have one of the following-
    a. The server computer displays remoting server=”localhost.”
    b. Client computer displays remoting server=”HRservername.”
  11. Tap on File.
  12. Hit Save.
  13. Press File again.
  14. Hit Exit.
  15. Close the screen and access Sage 50 HR.

Solution 2: Relaunch HR Services

  1. Find the My Computer icon then right-click on it.
  2. Select Manage.
  3. Choose Applications and Services.
  4. Tap on Services.
  5. Locate SageMySQL Service and double-click on it.
  6. Select General.
  7. Select Startup Type to Automatic
  8. Hit Save.
  9. Choose the Service Status as Started.
  10. Hit Save.
  11. Connect Sage 50 HR to the client system.

Solution 3: Configure Sage 50 HR Service

  1. Go to the Control Panel and click on Administrative tools and then click Services
  2. Right click on Sage 50 HR Service and choose Start.
  3. Go to Log On tab, this Account .\SageHRServer should be already selected, click Browse.
  4. Now click Locations and expand the + sign.
  5. Choose the domain name and click OK.
  6. Click Advanced, search the username in “Select User” screen and click OK.
  7. Enter password in Log On tab and click Apply.
  8. Now go to the General tab and click Start.
  9. Sage 50 HR service should start without error.
