Users can now purchase a payroll subscription and enable it on QuickBooks desktop. This enables users to store data of employees and pay their wages directly from the accounting software. Further, you can fill and file all payroll taxes related to your business. There are multiple plans available for online payroll, and you can select one on the basis of your preference.
Once you’ve purchased a payroll subscription, you need to activate it in QuickBooks desktop.
The steps to do so are provided below:
- Log into QuickBooks with an Admin Account
- From the main menu, select Employees
- Click on Payroll and Select Enter Service Key
- Do the following according to preferred option
- If you use payroll with existing file, then click Add File
- If you don’t, then click on Skip
- Click on Add
- Enter the Service Key which you received from Intuit
- Click on Next
- Select Finish
You have successfully activated payroll in QuickBooks desktop. Now you can use all of the features you were promised by Intuit.
If you don’t have your payroll service key, you can log into your Intuit account. There, you can view purchase history. Click on the payroll subscription, and you’ll find the service key related to your payroll subscription.
After activating Payroll, you’ll find the Payroll Center option under the Employees menu. Payroll center can be used to pay employees, prepare taxes, and store information related to employees. You can also access the same by going to Employee center and selecting the Payroll tab.
