· POS is trying to reconnect to the company file
· Damaged company file
· POS Database Service Manager is not running
· The server doesn’t have multi-user access
· Your client workstation is not the same as Windows Service Pack
· Firewall blocks server access

How to fix the error?
Solution 1: Change settings to multi-user mode
1. Go to the File menu

3. If you get the second option i.e. 2(b), click it and try establishing the connection with the client again
4. If you get the first option i.e. 2(a), click it and shit the POS window
5. Open POS again
6. Go to File menu
7. Select Switch Company File to Multi-User mode
8. Connect to client workstation
Solution 2: Allow interaction of POS with desktop using QB Database Service Manager
1. Shut down QuickBooks POS
2. Press Windows Start button
3. Type Services.msc
4. Click Enter
5. Now configure Intuit Entitlement Service. To do this:
a. Double-click the Intuit Entitlement Service V#. If there are multiple options on the list, select the highest number version
b. Choose General tab
c. Go to Startup Type field
d. Choose Automatic
e. Make sure the Service Status is set to Started
f. Browse to Log on tab
g. Click Local System Account
h. Select Allow Service to Interact with Desktop
i. Navigate to Recovery tab
j. Choose Restart the service from the failure fields, which include First, Second, and Subsequent Failures options
k. Click Apply
l. Click OK
6. Change the QBPOS Database Manager configuration. To achieve this:
a. Double-click the QBPOS Database Manager X. If there are multiple options on the list, select the highest number version
b. Choose General tab
c. Go to Startup Type field
d. Choose Automatic
e. Make sure the Service Status is set to Started
f. Browse to Log on tab
g. Click Local System Account
h. Select Allow Service to Interact with Desktop
i. Click Apply
j. Click OK
