For QuickBooks Subscription
Follow the steps provided below to upgrade & update QuickBooks, if you have a subscription for the same:
- Launch QuickBooks
- If an upgrade is available, the software will prompt you automatically. Click on Upgrade Now
- Select the option to Keep old version on my computer, if you wish to use the older version in the future.
- The update process will complete automatically. Click on Open QuickBooks.
It can often take a lot of time for the process to complete, especially if you have a slow internet connection. This is why we recommend that you plug in your laptop and leave it on so that the update process completes in the background.
For One Time License
Users who have a one time license for the software won’t be prompted with the upgrade message. Such users must follow the steps provided below to upgrade their accounting software:
- Go to the Help menu
- Click on QuickBooks Upgrade
- Click on Upgrade Now
- Select the Version you want to upgrade to
- Click on Upgrade now
- Click on Let’s Go.
The update process will start automatically. After this, you can import the old company file into the new software. The conversion of the company file will take place automatically.
